Summer Slump? How To Embrace This Season In Your CRE Business

Summer CRE Business Tips

The days are heating up but your schedule may be cooling down. Welcome to summer! This season is a bit unpredictable for most commercial real estate brokers since many of your clients may be traveling, co-workers are out of the office more than usual, and day to day schedules seem to vary. Don’t get off track this summer; instead use this time to boost your productivity and set your goals for the remainder of the year.

Embrace The Down Time

If your clients are out of town and you’re not doing as many property tours or client’s meetings this summer, use the extra time to your advantage. Now is the perfect time to get caught up on all those tasks on your to-do list that you’ve been brushing aside.

Prioritize the tasks that you’ve been putting off and jump right into getting them completed. Not only will you feel relieved when that pile of paperwork isn’t sitting on your desk anymore, but you will be able to refocus your attention to the more important tasks.

Update Your CRM

While I highly suggest keeping your commercial real estate CRM updated on a daily basis, if you haven’t been doing this, use a slow day to update your database. Are all of your contacts, properties, deals, and tasks up to date? Is there new information that you need to input? A strong database can be your secret weapon in this business so making sure it’s working for you should be a top priority this summer. If you need help entering new contact information, feel free to reach out to our exclusive Virtual Assistant team; they can help you save a ton of time! Spruce Up Your Marketing Materials

Do you have property brochures, flyers, or email newsletter templates that haven’t been updated in awhile? If so, now is the perfect time to get all of your marketing materials up to date. You may even find the motivation to create a few new templates to spruce up the look of your brand. Don’t forget to check all of your online property listings to make sure they’re up to date as well.

Get Ahead of Your Competitors

It’s crazy that we are more than half-way through 2019. Take the time to look at your goals for the year; are you on track to meet them? Be honest with yourself about where you are right now in your business and put together an action plan so you reach your goals by the end of the year. Get in front of your current and potential clients by calling or emailing them to see if there’s anything else you can do to help them. You want to stay on the top of their mind this summer!

Focus On Personal Development

During the summer months it’s easy to get off track and unfocused. If you need a little break from the business hustle, use the time to focus on personal development. Read a couple motivational books, make your health a priority, and find a hobby or sport that you can partake in that makes you feel energized. If you’re not already getting the sleep you need, exercising every day, and eating a variety of healthy food, now can be a great time to set up personal goals for yourself as well. You want to make sure you’re ready to finish the year strong!
