How CRE Professionals Can Finish 2018 Strong
Where did 2018 go? It’s hard to believe that we are down to the final few weeks of the year. If you’re anything like many of the commercial real estate professionals that I’ve been speaking with, you have a never-ending to-do list and prioritizing your tasks has become a juggling act. With so much going on, it’s best to focus on the efforts that will help you finish the year off strong. Finish 2018 on a high-note with these tips:
Analyze The Past Year
Be honest with yourself; was 2018 a successful year for your commercial real estate business? Were you busy or slower than you’d hoped for? What strategies did you use to gain new clients and win more deals? What business opportunities had the biggest impact on your business? If you felt like you were spending too much effort on tasks that didn’t have a good ROI, can you eliminate or reduce them in 2019? Think about what worked well, and what didn’t work so well so you can focus your time and energy in 2019 on the items that bring you the most deals.
Reach Out To Your Clients
With the holidays upon us, now is the perfect time to reach out to your best clients and let them know that you appreciate their business. You can send them a card, give them a call, or even hand-deliver a holiday gift. Either way, the goal is to make sure that you stay on the top of their mind, so they contact you when they have another commercial real estate deal. Make sure that you are sincere with whatever gesture you decide to do and personalize it as much as possible. No one likes a cookie-cutter card or pre-scripted phone call.
Declutter Your CRM
Your commercial real estate CRM software is one of your biggest business assets. Keep it organized and clutter-free by making sure that your database is filled with correct information and no duplicate entries. Remember that a proper CRM will help you stay organized, save time, and make more money, and with ClientLook CRM you can use our exclusive Virtual Assistant team to handle the data entry for you. While you’re decluttering your CRM, take a few minutes to add in notes to call clients on their birthdays, and add in dates for trade-shows, business conferences, networking events, etc.
Establish Your Goals For 2019
Your business goals will likely change from year to year so it’s important to take the time to set the goals you want to achieve in 2019. Your goals could be related to making a certain amount of money, closing a specific amount of deals, gaining a set number of new clients, etc. When establishing your goals, you want to be as specific as possible; the more specific you are, the more likely you are to achieve that goal. I like to use the SMART system; Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely.
With a little bit of planning, you can finish 2018 strong and be ready to hit the ground running at the beginning of 2019.
