An Interview With ClientLook User, Thomas Mortensen
Thomas Mortensen is an Associate Broker at Allen Sigmon Real Estate Group in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Thomas found his passion for real estate early in life, making his first buy at the age of 16. As a college student, Thomas interned for Allen Sigmon and also worked the following year as an intern for Keller Williams in Idaho. After graduation, he returned to Allen Sigmon and he has quickly excelled as a commercial real estate broker.

Can you tell me a little bit about your business? What do you specialize in and what does your day to day schedule look like?
Thomas: I am a broker at Allen Sigmon in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I have been here for almost three years now and work with landlords, tenants, buyers and sellers throughout the area. I enjoy being a broker because I love working with people and building relationships.
My schedule varies from day to day with property showings being my top priority. My day also includes prospecting, transaction work, and networking.
When did you first start using ClientLook and why did you choose ClientLook?
Thomas: When I started as a broker, a couple of the brokers in our office were using ClientLook so I heard of it because of them. Shortly after that, they switched to one of your top competitors, and I followed suit for about a month. The competitor CRM was such a headache to use, not user-friendly, and they offered no support. Whenever I would call to ask a question, they wanted to charge me more for everything. I realized that this company was not going to help me grow my business, so I switched to ClientLook and I love it. ClientLook is a simple CRM software that you can learn quickly, but you can also really customize it. The system keeps me organized, I really enjoy the live training webinars, and the handy blue support button is fantastic.
How easy was it to get your data converted into ClientLook?
Thomas: It was simple! ClientLook didn’t charge me like your competitors did. Your support team made the process straight-forward, and it was easy to upload my data. Since then, we have made Excel Spreadsheet template that mirrors the fields we use in ClientLook for our Assistant to use when she’s doing research. It makes it quick to import the data into our ClientLook database.
What problems has ClientLook solved for you?
Thomas: ClientLook keeps me organized! Whenever I talk to someone about a property or a deal, I make notes about our conversation so they’re easy to reference in the future. Instead of digging through piles of notebooks, I can pull up my notes within a few seconds. ClientLook also helps me remember to follow up with people. I schedule reminders so I stay on top of everything.
How has ClientLook helped your business?
Thomas: Because we rely on the ClientLook database, we were able to fill multiple vacancies based on the information we had in the system. ClientLook makes our email marketing efforts more efficient by allowing us to send the right email blasts to the right people.
What features do you like the most about ClientLook?
Thomas: The Virtual Assistant is great; I use that feature quite a bit. When I’m out, I can quickly take pictures of business cards and send them to the VA along with a few notes to schedule a follow up. When I’m driving, I like that I can call the VA about a property that looks interesting and schedule a follow up with my notes about the property. Everything is hands-free, so I don’t have to pull over when I’m driving; it saves me a lot of time! The Virtual Assistant is also very fast; I can leave a message on my commute home, and I usually have an email first thing the next morning that my request has been completed.
The Android app has also been a nice feature! I like to reference my notes before I walk into a property showing. It’s easy to see the notes from my phone conversations I had with this client, so I know what they’re looking for and how I can help them. It’s a nice refresher that is easy to access on the go.
How would you describe your overall experience with the ClientLook team?
Thomas: The ClientLook team has been great. Greg Hoard is awesome, and I always enjoy talking to him. He calls to see how I’m doing, sets up meetings so we can review how I’m using all the features, and he’s always very helpful. Greg understands my business and acts as a coach to help me with my database and brokerage work.
