An Interview With ClientLook User, Gerald Lambert

  • Gerald Lambert is a senior member of Norton Commercial’s Asset Management and Brokerage Services division. Gerald has been in the commercial real estate business since 1982. His multi-faceted commercial real estate experience has given him the expertise to bring the complete solution to each transaction. Gerald has worked on national tenant representation teams for Fortune 500 companies’ relocation, renewals, site selections, and dispositions. Part of Gerald’s large scale ventures included working with American Express, Ford Motor Credit, First Data Resources and Regions Bank.

Can you tell me a little bit about your business? What do you specialize in and what does your day to day schedule look like?

Gerald: My target audience is office and industrial owners, office and industrial tenants, and land owners. Back when I worked at Cushman and Wakefield I was a tenant-rep broker, but since I moved over to Norton Commercial I work with a wider range of clients. I need to have the ability to do everything. I am a very structured person; I went to a military high school and a military college, so I understand the importance of being structured and organized. If you don’t stay structured, you forget to prospect; if you forget to prospect then you have to start all over again once you current deals are completed.

Please tell us about your experience with ClientLook:

Gerald: Since I signed up for ClientLook, I have been using it as much as possible. I am very busy and ClientLook helps me be more efficient since I don’t have a large team of people working for me. I have learned quickly how to utilize the Virtual Assistant, and how to schedule tasks and reminders to follow up with clients. I have to admit that I am not the most tech-savvy person, but with the help of Greg Hoard I’ve been learning how to make the best use out of ClientLook. It’s all about getting into a routine and being consistent with it.

What CRM solution were you using previously and why did you choose ClientLook?

Gerald: I was previously using Salesforce (Power Broker); however, it was too difficult and they offered no support. I then switched over to using Contactually, but that service wasn’t any better. I also looked into Apto. None of these other CRM companies offered everything that ClientLook offers, so making the switch was an easy decision. I watched several of Michael Griffin’s videos and he seems so passionate about the company; plus I like that ClientLook was built specifically for commercial real estate agents. I needed a simple CRM with a great customer support team who can answer my questions, and the Virtual Assistant was a huge bonus. You get so much with ClientLook! It’s an excellent value.

How easy was it to get your data converted into ClientLook?

Gerald: It was very easy because I sent everything over to the Virtual Assistant, and everything was handled for me. Thankfully, I was up and running quickly.

What problems do you anticipate that ClientLook will solve for you? 

Gerald: Every morning I come into the office, sit down, and make a list of things that I need to do that day. I have been doing this for years. Greg Hoard has been showing me how to schedule my tasks directly in ClientLook so I can keep track of them. This will be a huge time-saving feature! I also mail out a lot of letters (I prefer direct mail verses email), and I can follow up on the letters that I send and track them within ClientLook. Tracking all of the updates is great!

The next feature that I am going to dive into is the client reporting feature and the interactive war room. These will be very beneficial for my clients, and I love that ClientLook makes it easy to keep clients updated. This is a win-win and something that will impress my clients.

What features do you like the most about ClientLook?

Gerald: The iPhone app, the Virtual Assistant, and the unlimited support and training are wonderful features! With the iPhone app, I like that I can access all of my information from anywhere. The Virtual Assistant team handles a lot of data entry that saves me a lot of time, and Greg Hoard has offered wonderful training and support services. I was supposed to be on the phone with Greg for 30 minutes, but he stayed on the phone with me for almost 90 minutes to walk me through everything and answer all of my questions. I was truly impressed!

How would you describe your overall experience with the ClientLook team?

Gerald: Wonderful! Everyone I have come in contact with at ClientLook has been easy to work with and they do everything they can to assist me. The team is dedicated to their subscribers and it really shows!
