An Interview With ClientLook User, Bill Colangelo

Can you tell me a little bit about your business? What do you specialize in and what does your day to day schedule look like?
Bill: I’ve been in business for 27 years. For many years I focused on tenant-rep, and about four years ago I shifted more into sales. I work with small to medium size owner-users and some investors now that I’m phasing out of tenant work and focusing more on sales. I am based in downtown Denver, and I usually arrive in the office around 7:30am and spend the morning doing a little reading, then I go into my pipeline to see what’s pending, what’s under contract, an what proposals are out. Until about 11:00am each day I am focused on phone calls and paperwork, and then I try to schedule appointments and spend my afternoons out in the field.
When did you first start using ClientLook and why did you choose ClientLook?
Bill: In Spring 2018 I signed up for the free 21-day trial, and after trying it out I signed up for an account. I looked around at other CRM’s, including Apto, but ClientLook was definitely the best. It was easy to sign up for a trial with ClientLook, and ClientLook is recommended by The Massimo Group. The Virtual Assistant sold me on the program since I don’t have a person assistant.
How easy was it to get your data converted into ClientLook?
Bill: Easy! I sent my Excel spreadsheets to the Virtual Assistant team and they uploaded all of my data for me. I was up and running right away. It was a very smooth process.
What CRM solution were you using previously?
Bill: I was using a Referral Maker, which is a CRM that is made more for residential agents, to keep track of my contacts. Then I was keeping track of my properties in Excel. It became apparent that I needed a CRM that was built for the commercial real estate industry.
What features do you like the most about ClientLook?
Bill: The Virtual Assistant is the best! I love that I can customize ClientLook any way I want to and create custom groups. When I’m out of the office, I use the iPhone app quite a bit. When I leave a meeting, I put notes into the app, and when I get a business card I take a picture and sent it to the Virtual Assistant. The iPhone app is quick and easy to use!
What problems has ClientLook solved for you?
Bill: ClientLook has helped me stay on top of things better than I did before. I can pull up information quickly because everything is in one spot instead of having to go through files on my computer. It has allowed me to handle more deals and helps me be more efficient with my follow-up calls. With ClientLook, it gives me the confidence that I am not losing track of any information or data. I’m not using all of the features that ClientLook offers, but I can easily customize it to fit my workflow.
How would you describe your overall experience with the ClientLook team?
Bill: Greg Hoard is great; he really encourages me! Greg and I were having a call every few weeks, and he would show me a new feature and then I would try it out and contact him if I had any questions. With his help, I learned several tips to make ClientLook work best for my business.
What advice would you give to someone who is looking for a CRM?
Bill: I would say ClientLook is the best and give it a try! The Virtual Assistant is incredible valuable! You have to get your data into the system somehow, and it would take me a long time to upload everything on my own.
