An Interview With ClientLook User, Ben Boeshaar
Ben Boeshaar is an Associate Broker at Sperry Commercial in McHenry, Illinois. With over 15 years of experience, he concentrates on retail and multi-family sectors of the industry in both Wisconsin and Illinois. He is skilled in negotiation for both landlord and tenant representation.
Ben’s main focus is helping his clients create and maximize wealth while assisting them in achieving their goals. He advises clients on the disposition and acquisition of retail properties, including strip centers and single tenant investments, service stations, restaurants, and community centers, as well as multi-family investment properties and vacant land sales.

Can you tell me a little bit about your business? What do you specialize in and what does your day to day schedule look like?
Ben: I have been in the commercial real estate business for 15 years, and my main focus is retail, multi-family, and vacant land. My schedule varies from day to day, but I typically arrive in the office by 8:30am and use ClientLook and my planner to plan out the entire week. I open ClientLook first thing in the morning to review the tasks that I have scheduled. By 9:30am I am going through my tasks and prospecting, and in the afternoons I am usually outside of the office doing property tours or client meetings.
When did you first start using ClientLook and what CRM solution were you using previously?
Ben: I started using ClientLook about a year and a half ago, and it’s been a great experience. Prior to signing up for ClientLook I was just using Outlook and I knew that I needed something more to keep my business on track. I looked at all of the CRM’s out there and I really like that ClientLook is made for the commercial real estate industry and fits my exact needs.
Why did you choose ClientLook?
Ben: I looked at Salesforce, and all of the other similar CRM’s, and it was obvious from their demos that they weren’t set up the way that ClientLook is. All of the other CRM’s were too much work and overly complicated. ClientLook is very easy to use and is set up perfectly for commercial real estate professionals.
How easy was it to get your data converted into ClientLook?
Ben: Getting started with ClientLook was quick and easy. I used the support team and the Virtual Assistant right away and they were able to help me get all of my data imported into ClientLook. I sent them the files and everything was converted correctly! I was up and running within about 2 hours.
What problems has ClientLook solved for you?
Ben: ClientLook has helped me to organize my real estate tasks and stay on top of communication with my prospects, past clients, and current clients. The system has also helped me with following up with people at the right times since I am able to set a task reminder.
The Virtual Assistant team has also been a huge help with time management since I am able to send a lot of my data entry and mundane tasks to them. I also think the iPhone app is so awesome since I can simply dictate my notes when I’m out in the field; it’s a great feature!
What features do you like the most about ClientLook?
Ben: In addition to the Virtual Assistant and iPhone app mentioned above, I like that I can easily organize my contacts, properties, and deals, and relate each one so the appropriate information is tied together. It’s also great that I can give access to my clients. I keep all of the information within ClientLook up to date, so I encourage my clients to view the notes and activity that I’ve posted there. My clients like that they can access their information anytime.
What advice would you give to someone who is looking for a CRM?
Ben: I would tell them to find a CRM that is built specifically for your industry. There are a lot of CRM’s out there and they can’t be all things to all people.
