An Interview With ClientLook User, Ben Alder
Ben has been specializing in land and farm sales since 2004. He joined SVN Miller Commercial Real Estate in December 2011, and launched the SVN Land Group in early 2014. His team chose commercial real estate CRM software to run their business in early 2015.
Today, SVN Land Group offers land in Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia with over 100 listings. Under Ben’s leadership Land Group has closed transactions comprising over 24,000 acres totaling more than $84M in sales. Currently, Ben serves as the SVN Co-chair for the Land Product Council.
In 2016, Ben was ranked #10 at SVN International out of 900 brokers nationwide. He was kind enough to tell us how his team uses ClientLook to fuel their success.
Please tell us about your experience with ClientLook:
Ben: ClientLook has been a great tool to keep my team and I on track and organized. It replaces the inefficiency of post-it notes and written to-do lists. We can’t remember most of what we need to do, but ClientLook can. I have taken the time to invest in learning the system, which is very user-friendly. There are three of us on my team and we all benefit from the fact that ClientLook keeps us on track so nothing slips through the cracks. It captures our day-to-day tasks in a way that no other system can.
How easy was it to get your data converted into ClientLook?
Ben: Honestly, prior to using ClientLook my data was all hand-written in notebooks and on post-it notes. That’s not the best way to keep yourself organized! Once we started using ClientLook it was quick and easy to input the information that we needed.
What features do you like the most about ClientLook?
Ben: The Virtual Assistant is hands down the best feature. We send updates to the VA multiple times per day and that has been a huge help with keeping us organized and on track. We also enjoy the ease of use of the entire system since ClientLook is very straightforward and easy to navigate. The new iPhone app has been a welcomed feature, and we also benefit from the customer support team, the ability to easily schedule activities and reminders, and the ability to add unlimited custom fields that relate to our land specialization.
Why did you choose ClientLook?
Ben: When I joined SVN, all the brokers were using ClientLook so I jumped on board and haven’t looked back. Over the years I have looked at other CRM systems and they are all too complicated. Our team wanted a simple and easy to use system, plus an easy way to sort through and find data quickly, and that’s exactly what we have with ClientLook. My team definitely sees the value in ClientLook.
How would you describe your overall experience with the ClientLook team?
Ben: The best word to describe the ClientLook team is “responsive.” I like that I can call or email the top guys – Michael, John, and Chuck – and they respond to me quickly. Overall, the team is fun to work with, they listen and value my feedback, and whenever we talk it’s collaborate in nature.
