An Interview With ClientLook User, Allen Buchanan

  • Allen C. Buchanan is a commercial real estate broker, author, and speaker. He’s also a popular social media contributor who is particularly well-known for his weekly location advice blog Tuesday Traffic Tips. Allen’s team has been using ClientLook since 2016, and they are among the best at leveraging technology. These guys do it right.

    Allen joined Lee & Associates Commercial Real Estate Services, Inc. – Orange in 1984 and became a shareholder in 1988. He has spent his real estate career in Southern California markets and provides location advice to owners and occupants of industrial real estate. Allen is continually recognized as a Top Five Producer of the Orange office, and he was kind enough to tell us about his experience with our commercial real estate CRM software here:

Please tell us about your experience with ClientLook:

Allen: Phenomenal! We love the integrations, the ease of access from anywhere anytime, and of course the new iPhone app! What first attracted me to ClientLook was the integrations with other leading technology providers such as BuildOut, Analyst Pro, and MailChimp. Since I was using all of these systems separately, the idea that they could all interact with each other was a big benefit. I also really like the fact that I can access ClientLook from anywhere; at the office, a coffee shop, on my phone, my tablet, or on my computer. Plus, I can be logged in at the same time as my Associates which makes sharing information with my team effortless.

How easy was it to get your data converted into ClientLook?

Allen: It was quite easy to get all of our data into ClientLook; in fact it only took about 20 minutes! One reason we migrated to ClientLook was to change the way we were doing business – we wanted to be property centric. We simply transferred all of our data from our Outlook database, with the help of the customer support team. Currently, we store our documents in Dropbox and tie them to ClientLook records as needed. It’s an easy and seamless process now!

What CRM solution were you using previously?

Allen: We started using REA back in 1992 when it was Microsoft DOS based. What originally attracted me to REA was that it was designed by a commercial real estate broker so the fields were specific to the industry. Overall, it was a good program but over the years our needs have changed and the ClientLook platform suits us better.

What features do you like the most about ClientLook?

Allen: Although I don’t have to use the support team often, I like knowing that there is unlimited customer support when I need it. The Virtual Assistant team is also a great feature that we utilize every day. Other features that I like about ClientLook are the user-friendly interface, free personalized training, the ease of managing my pipeline and forecast, the full-integrated collaborative war room, I can easily schedule activities so nothing gets forgotten, the ability to add unlimited custom fields, and the intuitive searches so I can find what I’m looking for quickly.

Why did you choose ClientLook?

Allen: ClientLook saves me time and energy, it’s incredibly easy to use, and I can access it from anywhere. All of that combined with the integrations mentioned above, the Virtual Assistant, and the excellent customer service team are a winning combination!

How would you describe your overall experience with the ClientLook team?

Allen: My experience with the ClientLook team has been excellent. The team is very responsive and knowledgeable, and I have to admit that Michael Griffin and John Dawson have become more friends than a typical customer/vendor relationship. I meet Michael for coffee on a consistent basis to talk about upcoming technology and trends. I am solicited for my opinion and expertise, which I appreciate, and the ClientLook team values my feedback.
